OSINT Project

本計畫旨在推廣以臺灣視角為出發的解放軍公開情報（OSINT）研究與教學，並著重於部隊編制的查核與地理空間定位。

相信在當前解放軍資訊日益不透明的情形下，本計畫能為解放軍觀察家們提供一全新視角，以圖像了解解放軍動態的同時，亦發揮事實查核與增進中國識讀的作用。

計畫主持人為臺灣知名公開情報工作者溫約瑟，其在2022年中以《中國人民解放軍基地與設施》互動地圖而進入公眾視野，具有數年以公開情報研究解放軍的實務經驗，並著有《請支援搜尋！你也可以用公開資訊破解共軍行動！》（OSINT on the PLA: How to Track China's Military Activities Using Open-Source Intelligence）一書。

This project aims to promote PLA open-source intelligence (OSINT) research and education from a Taiwan-centered perspective, with a particular focus on verifying unit structures and conducting geospatial identification.

In an era when information about the PLA is becoming increasingly opaque, this project seeks to provide PLA observers with a fresh analytical lens—one that uses imagery to understand PLA activities while also strengthening fact-checking and enhancing literacy about China.

The project lead is Y. Joseph Wen, a well-known OSINT practitioner in Taiwan. He came to public attention in mid-2022 through his interactive map “PLA Bases and Facilities.” Joseph has several years of hands-on experience researching the PLA using open-source intelligence and is the author of OSINT on the PLA: How to Track China’s Military Activities Using Open-Source Intelligence.
